For the fifth year, we welcome alumni members to visit and share their experiences.
Brent graduated from Wake Forest University in December 2010 as a History and Communication double major. In 2007, he co-founded the Reynolda Film Festival and served as Executive Director every year thereafter. His film experience includes working as a location scout for the North Carolina Film Commission, production assistant for The Fifth Quarter, and completed independent work with ESPN. Now, Brent is working on a family real estate project in South Carolina and as a member of Los Angeles-based BlueCat’s International Marketing Division.
Alex graduated from Wake Forest in 2009 as an Honors History major and Film Studies Minor. In 2007, Alex co-founded the Reynolda Film Festival and served as Executive Director until she graduated. She was an assistant for Mark Gordon of the Mark Gordon Company (2012, Saving Private Ryan, Grey’s Anatomy) before working at Automatik Entertainment (Take Shelter, Insidious, Safe), where she was recently transitioned to Creative Executive.
Sam Smartt
Sam graduated from Wake Forest in 2009 with a BA in History and minors in film studies and music. The summer after graduation he began editing his first feature length documentary, Any Given Friday, which screened at the 2010 Reynolda Film Festival as well as at Cucalorus Film Festival in Wilmington, NC. In the fall of 2010, he became a member of the first class of the Documentary Film Program at Wake Forest. He is currently working on his graduate thesis, Wagonmasters, a cultural history of the station wagon in America, and continues to work part time as a freelance videographer and editor.

Peter Westervelt
Peter Westervelt graduated from Wake Forest University in May of 2011 where he served as the Feature Film Coordinator of the 2011 Reynolda Film Festival. Since graduating, Peter has worked on a variety of film and TV projects including 30 Rock, CenterStage, The Chew, and the upcoming film, Now You See Me. In addition, he works as a freelance Director of Photography for various independent projects.
