“Spike Lee: Following Your
Dreams” draws from all three elements of the film festival’s founding promise: entertain, inspire, and challenge aspiring filmmakers and the community. The evening will feature famed director, producer, and screenwriter Spike Lee as he discusses how no one - especially today’s youth - should allow troubles from the past or present to prevent dreams from being followed. Instead of trying to hide problems, people who want to study film should draw on such issues. Rather than succumbing to standards or systems, filmmakers should challenge and overcome their limitations. Lee will prove that inspiration and motivation can be found in all areas of life.
